Time to Review Your Insurance Policies

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, but the beginning of a new year is an excellent time to sit down and review your insurance coverage to see if any changes need to be made to your existing policies.

In fact, we’ll make it easier for you with this checklist to get you started. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions below, contact us and we’ll make sure you’re properly covered.

 

Homeowners, condominium, and renters policies:

Have you recently remodeled or redecorated your home? Do you have plans to do so?
Have you installed a security alarm system in your home?
Do you use a wood-burning stove?
Do you have a dog or other pet that may pose a risk to others?
Do you have a swimming pool or a trampoline?
Do you have children away at college? If so, are their possessions insured?
Do you own a rental or investment property? A vacation residence?
Do you plan to start a business?
Do you operate an office or studio in your home? Do clients come into your home to make purchases or conduct business?
Do you have collectibles such as antiques, fine art or wine? Do you own valuable jewelry or furs?
Do you have a hobby that requires expensive equipment?
Do you own tools, equipment or instruments used in your trade or profession?
Do you have an umbrella liability policy?

Auto and recreational vehicle policies policies:

Do you plan to purchase a new vehicle this year?
Have you recently paid off an auto loan?
Does your automobile policy list the names of all drivers in your household?
Is the name on your vehicle title(s) different than the name on your auto insurance?
Do you plan to start driving a vehicle that has been parked for an extended period of time?
Do you routinely drive vehicles you do not own?
Did you purchase a recreational vehicle?
Do you have an umbrella liability policy?

Life and health insurance policies:

Do you have life insurance that will pay your mortgage or other debts in the event of your death?
Have you recently reviewed your life insurance needs?
Do you and your family members have proper health insurance coverage?
Will you be eligible for Medicare soon?
